Bulgaria nominates two alternative politicians to replace research and innovation commissioner
Iliana Ivanova is set to lose her post as the EU commissioner responsible for research, innovation and education, with the government of her native Bulgaria nominating two other politicians to become the country’s next political leader at the top of the European Commission.
New leaders are being nominated by EU member states for five-year terms in the Commission following the European Parliament elections in June, which triggered a new political cycle.
