Data mining exception ‘too narrow’

A proposed update to EU copyright laws won't keep pace with developments in data analysis, universities have said.

The European University Association said on 18 November that this could be a short-lived solution for researchers given the pace of developments in science and ICT.

The proposal should be “future-proofed” by using the more general term of “data analytics” instead of TDM, the EUA said.
