European countries must improve the cooperation between their civil and military authorities to help keep people safe online, the EU’s cybersecurity agency has said.
The Athens-based EU Agency for Network and Information Security, Enisa, has urged the European Commission to create a more centralised cybersecurity system. This would include more streamlined rules and the creation of certification system to ensure that technology products are secure, the news website Euractiv reported on 1 August.
In the 20-page document seen by Euractiv, Enisa also requested a bigger role in the EU’s cybersecurity strategy and asked to be the lead agency in the coordination between companies and public institutions.
