Expert panel would boost political support for mitigation policies, report says
The EU should set up an expert panel on climate change to increase political and public support for European-level mitigation policies and help track progress in their implementation, a report has recommended.
“An independent expert advisory mechanism on climate change would enhance the credibility of the analysis and policy proposals prepared by the European Commission,” wrote author Alina Averchenkova, a distinguished policy fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
