Pandemic has ‘shown importance of close dialogue’ between drugs companies and EU, says industry body
Europe’s pharmaceutical industry is seeking to work more closely with EU agencies, including the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, to help direct activities including research. The centre is tasked with helping to protect Europe against infectious diseases, through activities such as surveillance and providing advice and training.
The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations said in responses to European Commission consultations it published on 2 February that “there are currently no formal opportunities for regular interactions between the ECDC and the pharmaceutical industry”.
