Breton: Europe must improve sharing of industrial data

Commissioner’s comments coincide with independent draft guidance on researchers’ access to data from technology platforms

Europe needs to become better at sharing industrial data, according to the EU internal market commissioner, Thierry Breton.

His chastisement came as an EU-funded project on combatting disinformation published a draft code of conduct on how private technology platforms such as Meta, Twitter and Google can share data with independent researchers while protecting user privacy.
