Study finds EU academic organisations face legal uncertainty due to digital services and markets acts
New EU regulations on digital platforms will create “much legal uncertainty” for research organisations, according to a new study carried out for the European Commission that reinforces concerns expressed by academia.
The study follows agreements in recent months by EU institutions on the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act, which will put new obligations on digital platforms and give new rights to users when they come into effect over the coming 18 months or so.
