EU parliament panel insists retraction of “prematurely published” study on pharma policy was administrative decision

The European Parliament’s science-advice panel has reiterated its reasoning for recalling a report on pharmaceutical legislation shortly after it was released last month, and insisted nothing underhand had occurred.

After media interest in the decision—which comes as debates over pharmaceutical policy in Europe heat up—the Panel for the Future of Science and Technology (Stoa) insisted on 6 November that “this was an autonomous administrative decision by the secretariat, and not instigated by any pressure nor request from Stoa members”.
