The Swedish government has appointed Eva Åkesson, a chemical physicist at Lund Unviersity, as the vice-chancellor of Uppsala University. Åkesson will replace Anders Hallberg in the post on 1 January next year.
“I look forward to getting to know Uppsala University and the university getting to know me,” she said.
