Research Council’s fraud investigation full of errors, journalist finds

A journalist for the Farrad.se website has found a string of errors in the Swedish Research Council's (VR) investigation into a Karolinska Institute researcher found guilty of serious scientific misconduct.

Suchitra Holgersson, a post-transplant immunologist, was found guilty by VR’s ethics committee of fabricating research results for a blood vessel transplant project. Pam Fredman, the vice-chancellor of the University of Gothenburg, where Holgersson now works, wrote to the state disciplinary board last week to ask that Holgersson be removed from her post.
