Sweden appoints environment research council

The international committee of experts that will determine the focus areas of Swedish environmental research, which starts operating in January next year, has been appointed, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced in a statement on 23 September.

The new council, known as the Mistra Council for Environmental Evaluation, will summarise scientific evidence of relevance to environmental policy, and feed this slimmed-down information to policy-makers.
