Umeå to host centre for Arctic research

Sweden’s first Arctic research centre will open at Umeå University on 12 December.

Umeå’s position in the north of the country makes it well suited to the task, says Lena Gustafsson, the university’s vice-chancellor. The hope is that the centre, to be known as Arcum, will become a national hub for Arctic research in Sweden.
