A roadmap to a greener future

The Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning (Formas) has outlined the research areas it believes Sweden needs to pursue to become a bio-based economy.

In a report handed to government on 7 February, Formas identifies four areas it says are critical for investment. They are replacing fossil fuels with biofuels; smarter products and smarter resource use; changing consumer behaviour and attitudes; and prioritisation and choice of actions.
