Swedish research council bids for foreign-based researchers

The Swedish research council, Vetenskapsrådet is giving grants to two leading international researchers to relocate to Sweden.

The move forms part of a programme announced in May that aims to increase the ability of Swedish universities to hire researchers from abroad.

The International Recruitment of Prominent Researchers-programme  gives eight to 10-year grants to overseas researchers, who are expected to create research groups able to compete internationally.
