Foundations funds struggling post-docs

A Swedish foundation has created a grant to support young researchers who did their PhDs abroad when they return to Sweden to work.

According to the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research there is little available money for Swedish postdocs returning home after completing their PhD in another country. This is why the foundation sponsors twelve returning young scientists to help them start their first research project.

Each of them received 3 million Swedish kroner. From this grant, SKr 2.95m (€345,000) is earmarked for research, and the remaining SKr 500,000 (€59,000) is a personal grant.
