The Swedish Research Council is has opened a call for long-term funding to attract leading international researchers to Swedish higher education institutions.
Each successful applicant will receive a 5-15 million Swedish kroner (€584.600-€1.8m) grant for seven to ten years. In 2013 the research council will spend a total of SKr150m on this call, according to a statement. The same sum will also be handed out next year.
"I hope this will provide opportunities to higher education institutions to offer residence to highly qualified international researchers who contribute to creating successful environments,” said Mille Millnert, director-general of the Swedish Research Council.
