The Swedish government has appointed Torbjörn von Schantz as rector of Lund University.
Von Schantz is an animal ecologist and is presently the vice-rector of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
“With his broad experience in academia, he has a good potential to contribute to the development of the university," said Helene Hellmark Knutsson, Sweden’s research minister.
