Council plans registry database

The Swedish research council Vetenskapsrådet is to launch a website to help scientists access data from large registries.

The website, which will be launched at the beginning of 2016, will provide advice and information about gaining access to national registry data and explain the laws surrounding registry-based research.

“Through linking information from large population groups we will be able to investigate the relationship between, for example, genetic factors, social relationships and health,” Vetenskapsrådet said in a statement. “The registry system used today is scattered in many different places and administered by different researchers and authorities.”
