Business support centre for Horizon 2020 announced

Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth Tillväxtverket are to establish a support facility to help companies win EU research funds.

In a statement on 10 April, the agencies said that the centre will provide free advice for small and medium sized companies that want to apply for Horizon 2020 funding.

The move will combine six existing support centres hosted by Vinnova and Tillväxtverket into a single facility. This will help to centralise and clarify the advice being given to businesses, the agencies said. As part of the changes, Vinnova is to terminate its planning grants programme, which offered funds to assist in proposal development, and channel the money into the support centre instead.
