The Swedish research council Vetenskapsrådet has announced Agneta Bladh as chairwoman of its board.
Bladh most recently stood on the board of Uppsala University, and has previously held positions as the rector of the University of Kalmar, state secretary at the ministry of education, and director of the National Agency for Higher Education—which is now called the Swedish Higher Education Authority. She has a PhD in political sciences from Stockholm University.
“It will be exciting for me to take a more active part in research policy,” Bladh said in a statement on 18 December.
