Universities review progress in entrepreneurship

The European Commission and the OECD are to create a self-assessment tool for universities to assess their entrepreneurial performance.

The online service is designed to inform institutions about the strengths and weaknesses of their entrepreneurship strategy, and to provide information on good practice, said the Commission in a statement on 18 November. However, the website will not rank institutions, meaning that users will only have access to their own results and will not be able to compare their performance against others.

Among the indicators used to assess performance, universities will be invited to assess attitudes to entrepreneurship at the institution, as well as facilities offered to students and start-up companies.
