Commission awards Erasmus charters

Over 4,300 higher education institutions have been presented with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, which allows them to take part in the next instalment of the student mobility programme—Erasmus+.

According to a statement from the European Commission, 4,886 applications were received in the 2013 call for proposals, and 4,309 awards were made.

The charter is a prerequisite for all higher education institutions to cooperate on innovation and good practices through the €14.7-billion Erasmus+ programme, which runs from 2014-20. The awards will last for the full programme, and proposals will be taken on an annual basis.
