Leru meets with Asian university group

The Association of East Asian Research Universities and the League of European Research Universities held their first joint meeting last week, as part of Leru’s push to work with more global research-intensive university groups.

A Leru statement said that the meeting, held on 6 and 7 December, would discuss global research issues, focusing on new educational and research initiatives, and look at opportunities for future collaborations.

Leru also invited the AEARU to sign the Hefei statement, which aims to identify and tackle the common problems faced by research-intensive universities. The statement was published in October and signed by Leru, the Association of American Universities, the Consortium of China Nine Research Universities and the Group of Eight Australia.
