Researcher takes helm at EU’s environment agency

Belgian policy researcher Hans Bruyninckx has taken up the position of executive director at the European Environmental Agency in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Bruyninckx was previously employed as a lecturer at the HIVA Research Institute for Work and Safety at the University of Leuven in Flanders, Belgium. His research there included climate change policy as well as international politics and governance.

He takes over from Jacqueline McGlade, who has been in the position for the previous ten years.
