EUA creates tool to measure collaboration success

The European University Association has launched an online monitoring system for university-business partnerships.

The U-B Tool, launched on 13 November, aims to help universities and their partners assess collaboration more accurately. The self-assessment tool uses qualitative and quantitative indicators to measure outputs in collaborative projects, according to the EUA’s announcement.

The system was designed through the Europe’s Universities Implementing their Modernisation Agenda (EUIMA) collaborative research project, which aims to provide better empirical data on how to strengthen university-business collaborations. The project collected case studies from university professors and leaders and set up workshops at European level for exchanges on good practice, which fed into the system’s development.
