European nations need to allocate more resources to digital learning, the European Parliament’s think tank has warned.
In a report published on 30 March, the think tank reviews the state of higher education in the EU. It stresses that member states are making uneven progress on digital learning, meaning more resources must go to teachers to promote the use of new technologies for education if the region is to keep up with its global competitors.
According to the report, national governments also need to make better progress in recognising qualifications from other countries. A Eurobarometer survey published last year showed that Europeans still face difficulties in getting their degrees recognised in other countries.
