Lithuania tops the chart when it comes to the proportion of 30 to 34 year olds who have finished a higher education programme, a report by Europe’s statistics agency Eurostat has found.
In 2014, 53 per cent of the Lithuanian population in this age group had completed a higher education programme, closely followed by Luxembourg, Cyprus and Ireland. The lowest proportions were observed in Italy, Romania, Malta, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, the report, published on 20 April, found.
The share of persons aged 30 to 34 who have completed a higher education programme in 2014 is higher for women than for men in all EU member states except for Germany, according to the report.
