The research commissioner Carlos Moedas warned against scientific arrogance and underscored the importance of interdisciplinarity at the launch of a European network for the study of religion.
The European Academy of Religion was launched in Bologna on 4 December as a research consortium for scientific societies, departments and publishers studying religion. The ‘network of networks’ includes three hundred institutions from Europe, the Middle East, the Caucasus and Russia.
In a speech at the event, the research commissioner Carlos Moedas said that the Academy would help bring “more dialogue, more interdisciplinarity, and more cross-fertilization” to the understanding of religion.
