The European University Association has issued a strategy to encourage universities to work more closely together on renewable energy R&D.
The roadmap, presented at the Strategic Energy Technology Plan Conference in Bratislava, Slovakia, calls on universities to map their energy-related education and research infrastructures, coordinate dialogues, build a repository of teaching materials and foster cooperation with businesses.
Lidia Borrell-Damian, director of the EUA’s Research and Innovation Unit said in a press statement: “The goal is to make sure that activities in the sector aim at moving towards a low-carbon society and that university-based research contributes to the development of a sustainable and affordable energy system.”
