Italy’s professors are staging a strike against stalling wages, with around 5,500 refusing to participate in the 2017 autumn exam season.
The professors walked out on 28 August, and intend to stay away from supervising or marking exams until the end of October. In a letter sent to several Italian ministers dated 27 June, participants said they wanted their salaries to be unfrozen and university budgets to be increased.
