A study of the websites of more than 1,200 EU institutions involved in animal research has found that many of them lack information about how the animals are used and cared for.
Less than half of the 1,219 websites assessed—just 44 per cent—carried a recognisable statement explaining their use of animals in research and their consideration of the animals’ welfare, the European Animal Research Association said in a report published on 3 June.
Only 28 per cent of the websites prominently mentioned the institution’s animal research, Eara found.
