A group of researchers has produced a guide on collaborating within and outside academia, under an initiative from the League of European Research Universities.

Six collaboration success factors were identified by Leru summer school participants through more than 50 interviews with senior researchers and discussions in a workshop. These factors are explored in the guide, which was published on 1 August.

The success factors include “clear and effective communication” and “mutual benefits”. According to the guide, researchers should be thoughtful about how they communicate with potential collaborators, plan meetings carefully and openly discuss differences that arise.
