Ministers will look to European Universities to combat brain drain

Network initiative suggested as remedy for one-way movement of expertise and talent

European education ministers will meet in Brussels on 20 February to talk about how policies and funding can better balance the migration of skilled workers around the continent.

Concern about an imbalanced ‘brain drain’ of such workers has risen to the top of the EU’s political agenda under the six-month Croatian presidency of the European Council.
