Cesaer pushes members to sign research-assessment pledge

Universities body backs declaration as encouragement to members to do so

The Cesaer group of science and technology universities has signed the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment, known as Dora, which aims to make the measurement of research outputs fair and balanced.

“Many conventional research-assessment methods rely too much on indicators such as the journal-impact factor,” said the group of 54 science and technology universities from 26 European countries, in a 10 November statement.
