European Universities Initiative promises ‘bold innovation’

Initiative will be a testing ground for new ways of teaching and learning, Commission says

The European Commission says it will raise research and education standards by helping institutions trailblaze teaching methods such as ‘micro-credentials’ and adult-learning programmes. 

“Europe is ready for bold educational innovation”, Themis Christophidou (pictured), the Commission’s director-general for education, told an event on the European Universities Initiative (EUI), the EU’s scheme to promote cross-border cooperation via joint programmes and mobility schemes.
