Roadmap focuses on access to education and lifelong learning

The European Commission is seeking feedback on a roadmap for the European Education Area, a package of policy initiatives to increase education standards across the continent that is bound up with programmes such as the EU’s Erasmus+ mobility scheme and efforts to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The roadmap, which was opened for consultation on 22 July until 26 August, emphasises the role of education, training and skills in the recovery from Covid-19 and making Europe more sustainable, innovative and fair. It says the Commission intends to make the EEA a reality by 2025 by improving access to education and bringing about a culture of lifelong learning.
