Principles for researchers and employers could be revamped to stress openness and equality
European principles of conduct for researchers and their employers, set out in 2005 and endorsed by almost 1,300 organisations, are still useful and should be largely retained but could benefit from a polish, EU advisers have said.
The European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers contain 40 principles that “remain today very relevant”, a taskforce created by the European Research Area Committee said in a report published on 21 July.
