Commission ‘doing everything in its power’ to fix Erasmus+ issues

       

Universities can spend leftover funding from previous years, but they say reserves are drying up

European Commission officials have said that the EU institution is “doing everything in its power” to fix ongoing problems with funding from Erasmus+, the bloc’s academic exchange scheme.

Their comments follow reports from higher education institutions last year that they were facing “enormous challenges” in finding funding from other sources to support trips abroad for students, as delays to the distribution of funding from the programme piled up on top of a lower annual budget, high demand and new grant types.
