European universities optimistic about their future funding

EUA survey paints more positive picture than last year, but concerns remain over pandemic recovery

Universities across Europe are much more optimistic about public funding for higher education than they were a year ago, a survey by the European University Association has found.

But there are still concerns about the long-term impacts of Covid-19, with university associations continuing to report a loss of financial autonomy compared with before the pandemic.
