Leru says open-ended nature of implementation coalition could deter institutions
The League of European Research Universities has warned that some of its members will be reluctant to join a planned coalition for implementing EU-led reforms of research assessment, because the nature of future commitments is unclear.
“It is an open-end process. At this time the obligations implied by joining are light, but how is that going to evolve in the future?” asked Bert Overlaet, chair of the careers policy group at Leru and the league’s spokesperson on research assessment. “Some Leru universities will be reluctant to join.”
