EUA finds ‘excessive’ interference with university autonomy

                

Higher education autonomy has taken a hit in multiple European countries, university group’s scorecard reports

There is an “excessive and unnecessary” degree of political interference in the operation of European universities, according to the latest major attempt to characterise institutional autonomy in the sector.

The European University Association published the fourth iteration of its autonomy scorecard on 7 March, updating it from 2017.
