As Europe votes, change is in the wind for R&D
As this issue of Research Europe goes to press, Europe’s voters are going to the polls.
But as we report here, we head into the European parliamentary elections with little idea of the process by which the results will inform the selection of the next president of the European Commission. Given the considerable sway that position holds over the research agenda, this lack of clarity is unsettling—and not helped by the absence of focus on the contenders’ positions on some crucial areas of R&D.
