ERC’s push for multidisciplinary panels sets an example for EU
It is hard to imagine a more unstable situation for EU budgeting: the Covid-19 pandemic has the world in its grip, Brexit is just seven months away, and the economic and academic impacts of both will only fully show themselves in the coming years.
Last month the European Commission presented its plan for the 2021-27 EU multiannual financial framework. The MFF is the blueprint for how to turn poltical promises into actual, measurable change. It’s a giant exercise in ‘how to spend it’, with the results judged by 450 million people.
