AUT postgrad offers sound investment opportunity

An engineering student at the Auckland University of Technology has launched a crowdfunding campaign to develop and market interactive games for people who are visually impaired.

Jarek Beksa (above) leads an AUT research team that has created eight free video games for a platform called the Audio Game Hub. The games are available through the Apple Store and Google Play, and have been downloaded more than 33,000 times.

Announcing the launch of a Kickstarter campaign on 9 November, Beksa said the fundraising target of $6,000 will help develop new games and will also cover the costs of researching and creating new sound effects.
