Students explore disaster research in Japan

New Zealand students will travel to Japan to take part in an Asia-Pacific regional meeting on managing problems caused by natural disasters, such as earthquakes and tsunamis.

Around 30 students from NZ universities will attend the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths study programme. The seven-day meeting begins in Tokyo on 7 December, and involves study tours to regional cities.

Among those attending are four students from the Master of Disaster, Risk and Resilience  degree programme coordinated by the University of Canterbury and Lincoln University in Christchurch.
