The New Zealand government will award more than $1.4 million in tertiary scholarships to Pacific Islands students undertaking courses in health, midwifery and caring for the disabled.
In a brief statement, NZ associate health minister Nicky Wagner said that a record number of grants for university and tertiary college courses will be awarded in 2017 under the government’s Pacific Health Scholarships programme.
“Growing the Pacific health workforce is vital for delivering appropriate and effective services for Pacific people,” she said.
