NZ investors ‘have different criteria for startups’

New Zealand venture capitalists want global thinking, trustworthiness and enthusiasm from local startup entrepreneurs, according to a Massey University study.

Business graduate Hattaf Ansari surveyed 88 early stage investors and members of crowd funding groups in NZ as part of a Master’s degree project to identify factors that influenced investment decisions.

It is the first survey of its kind to be conducted in NZ and is being used by Massey to develop a business accelerator programme called Sprint Launch.
