Government puts $35m into genomics research

The University of Otago in Dunedin will lead a national genomics organisation involving more than 30 research partners across New Zealand.

The Genomics Aotearoa research alliance will include Auckland and Massey universities, government agriculture and environmental research agencies, Māori communities and farm industry groups.

Peter Dearden, director of genetics research at Otago, will head the cross-disciplinary research organisation.
