Winston Peters, leader of New Zealand First, could make radical changes to student loans a condition of forming a government with either National leader Bill English or a Labour-Greens coalition.
In the weeks leading up to the 23 September election, Peters had said that New Zealand First wanted “to get rid of student loans” for tertiary graduates who stay and work in the country.
“The only requirement is that they work for the same number of years as they have studied,” he said.
