New Zealand’s government has launched a website to share submissions on Pacific Islands culture, education and social concerns ahead of a national policy summit to be held in Auckland in November.
Pacific peoples minister Aupito William Sio said these contributions would help the government to “engage with our communities about where we’ve come from, what we’re doing now, and where we want to head in the future”.
The website is part of the ‘Pacific reset’ policy announced earlier this year by prime minister Jacinda Ardern to position NZ as a Pacific Islands nation. The government has developed a Pacific-Aotearoa policy programme, which has involved consultations with more than 50 community organisations across the country.
